Exporting Time to ADP
Send approved time entries from TimeTracker to ADP for payroll processing
When payroll processing day comes around, you need clean, accurate hour totals in your payroll system. Instead of re-keying hours from TimeTracker into ADP, this integration exports them directly — saving time and reducing transcription errors.
Setting Up
- Go to More > Integrations > ADP.
- Select your ADP product — ADP Workforce Now or ADP Run.
- Configure the connection (API sync or file-based export, depending on your ADP product).
- Map TimeTracker users to ADP employee records — match each person so hours go to the right payroll record.
- Map pay codes and earnings types — regular hours, overtime, and any custom categories your organization uses.
- Click Save.
Running the Export
- Make sure all time entries for the pay period are approved (if you use the approval workflow).
- Go to More > Integrations > ADP.
- Select the pay period date range.
- Click Export.
- Review the export summary — check employee totals and look for any warnings (unmapped employees, missing pay codes, etc.).
- Submit to ADP.
Tips
- Run the export after all entries are approved and any corrections have been made. Re-exporting is possible but creates extra reconciliation work.
- If a new employee doesn't appear in the export, add them to the mapping in the integration settings.
- Verify the exported totals in ADP before processing payroll — a quick sanity check catches any mapping issues before they affect paychecks.
