Importing and Exporting Calendar Events (.ics)

Move events between TimeTracker and other calendars using standard .ics files

TimeTracker supports standard .ics calendar files for import and export. This is useful when you need to bring in schedules from other systems or share your TimeTracker calendar with colleagues who use different tools.

Importing Events

  1. Go to the Calendar section from the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Import option.
  3. Select an .ics file from your computer. Most calendar applications (Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar) can export to .ics format.
  4. The imported events appear on your TimeTracker calendar.

Imported events are informational — they show up on the calendar view but don't automatically create time entries. You can use them as a reference when filling out your timesheet.

Exporting Events

  1. From the Calendar view, click the Export option.
  2. Choose the date range you want to export.
  3. Download the .ics file.

The exported file can be imported into Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, or any application that supports the .ics standard.

When to Use This

  • Onboarding — Import a new employee's existing schedule so they can see their commitments alongside TimeTracker data.
  • Sharing — Export your schedule for a colleague who doesn't have a TimeTracker login.
  • Migration — If you're switching from another time tracking tool, export its calendar data as .ics and import it here.
