Outlook Add-in for Time Tracking

Log time directly from Outlook while reading emails or attending meetings

The Outlook Add-in lets you log time directly from Microsoft Outlook. If you spend significant time in email and calendar — client calls, meetings, reviewing documents — this add-in saves you from switching back to TimeTracker every time you need to log an entry.

Installing the Add-in

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook (desktop or web).
  2. Go to Get Add-ins (on the Home tab, or File > Manage Add-ins).
  3. Search for "eBillity" or "TimeTracker".
  4. Click Add and follow the authorization steps to connect your TimeTracker account.

Logging Time from an Email

When you're reading an email and want to log the time you spent on it:

  1. Open the email.
  2. Click the eBillity add-in button in the toolbar.
  3. A time entry form appears, pre-filled with the email subject and sender information.
  4. Select the client, project, and activity. Enter your hours or start a timer.
  5. Click Save.

Logging Time from a Calendar Event

After a meeting:

  1. Open the meeting or appointment in your calendar.
  2. Click the eBillity add-in button.
  3. The duration is pre-filled based on the meeting length.
  4. Select client, project, and activity, then save.

Tips

  • Time entries created from the add-in appear on your TimeTracker timesheet like any other entry — they sync automatically.
  • The add-in works in both Outlook desktop and Outlook on the web (outlook.office.com).
  • If the add-in doesn't appear after installation, restart Outlook or check with your IT admin — some organizations require admin approval for add-ins.
