Selecting Entries for an Invoice

Filter and pick exactly which time entries and expenses go on each invoice

Not every unbilled entry necessarily belongs on the current invoice. Maybe you want to bill only through a specific date, exclude certain activities, or split a billing period across two invoices. The entry selection panel gives you that control before anything hits the invoice.

Opening the Selection Panel

After creating a new invoice and filling in the header (client, date, payment terms), click "Select Invoice Entries". A filtering panel appears showing all unbilled entries for that client.

Filtering Options

  • Project — Show entries for a specific project or all projects. Useful when you bill different projects on separate invoices.
  • User — Filter entries from a specific team member. Helpful when reviewing before including.
  • Date Range — Limit entries to a specific time period. This is how you bill "through the end of the month" without including work done after that date.
  • Include Unapproved — If approvals are enabled, decide whether to include entries that haven't been approved yet. Off by default — only approved entries are shown.

Click Update to refresh the list with your filters applied.

Selecting Entries

Check the entries you want to include. You can select all with the header checkbox or pick individual entries. Selected entries will appear as line items on the invoice.

Important: If any entries show a rate of $0.00, they'll appear as $0.00 line items on the invoice. Fix the billing rate (on the user, client, or project) before finalizing the invoice.
