Timer and Timesheet Settings

Rounding, concurrent timers, billable defaults, and how the timesheet looks

Two settings areas shape how your team records time day to day.

Timer Settings

Timer Settings

Timer Settings covers rounding, concurrent timers, overtime rates, and billable defaults.

Setting
What it does
Timer Rounding
Rounds a timer up when saved. At five minutes, a two-minute timer saves as five and a twelve-minute timer as fifteen.
Default Time Entry Tax
A firm-wide tax percentage applied to time entries
Concurrent Timers
Whether one person can run several timers at once. Disabled by default, so starting a new timer stops the current one.
Overtime Billing Rates
Enables overtime rates on users, clients, and projects
Non-Project Related Entries
Allows time against a client with no project, and lets you rename that label
Time Entry Billable Status Default
Whether the Bill checkbox starts ticked or unticked
Create Time Entries in the Mobile App
Whether your team can log time from mobile

A note on rounding

Rounding applies when the entry is saved, not retroactively. Turning it on today does not change yesterday's entries, and turning it off does not unwind rounding that has already been applied.

Renaming Non-Project Related

If "Non-Project Related" is not the language your business uses, type your own term into the box beneath the setting. It replaces the label everywhere — dropdowns, invoices, and reports.

Timesheet appearance

Settings → Customize → Timesheets controls what the grid looks like.

Customize Timesheet

Timesheet customization, with a live preview of the grid below the settings.

  • Work Week starts on — which day the grid begins
  • Which columns are visible — Client, Activity, Billable Lock, Bill checkbox
  • Which days are visible — hide weekends if nobody works them
  • Notes — a message that appears on everyone's timesheet, useful for deadline reminders

A live preview sits below the settings, so you can see the effect of each change before saving.

Note: Hiding the weekend tidies the grid but only affects your own timesheet — each person chooses which days they see on theirs.
