Week Navigation and Payroll Period View
Jump between weeks or switch to payroll period view to match your pay cycle
You'll often need to look at previous weeks — to fix a missed entry, check last month's hours, or review time for a pay period that doesn't align with your calendar week. Here's how to navigate between dates and switch between the two timesheet views.
Navigating Between Weeks
The Weekly Timesheet defaults to the current week. To move between weeks:
- Left/Right Arrows — Click the arrows next to the date range at the top of the timesheet to move one week backward or forward.
- "Current" Button — Jumps back to the current week from wherever you are. Useful after scrolling back several weeks.
Work Week vs. Payroll Period View
The timesheet supports two views, and the right one depends on how your firm processes time:
- View Work Week — Shows a standard calendar week (Sunday–Saturday or Monday–Friday, depending on your firm's configuration). This is the default view and works for most teams.
- View Payroll Period — Shows the date range that matches your payroll cycle. This is useful when your payroll runs on a bi-weekly or semi-monthly schedule that doesn't align with calendar weeks.
For example, if your payroll period runs from the 1st to the 15th and the 16th to the end of the month, the Payroll Period view shows exactly those date ranges — so you can see all entries that belong to one payroll run on a single screen.
Tips
- Your admin sets the work week start day and payroll period in Admin > Settings > Time Tracking.
- If you're submitting time for approval, use the Payroll Period view to make sure you've covered the full pay period before hitting Submit.
